Moong dal Dhokla is a very low calorie and healthy appetizer/snack, best suited for tea time.
Ingredients for Batter:
Moong dal

½ tsp

¼ tsp

Green chilli – finely chopped

Method:
- Soak Moong dal for 2 hrs.
- Combine Moong dal with green chillies and blend in a mixer using little water to make a paste of pouring consistency.
- Add remaining ingredients to the batter except tempering items. Mix well to make a smooth batter.
- Just before steaming add fruit salt and mix lightly.
- Transfer the batter to greased idly (thali) plate and steam it for 10-15 min or till the dhokla's are done.
- Once it is cooled transfer it to a plate and cut it into square and keep aside.
- Now pour the tempering on the prepared dhokla's and spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle cilantro and grated coconut evenly on top.
- Serve it with green chutney.

Useful Kitchen tip of the day:
- A handful of well-soaked moong dal added to any salad will increase the proteins and make it extra nutritious.
- Slit karelas at the middle and apply a mixture of salt, wheat flour and curd all round. Keep aside for ½ hour and then cook.
